Criterion’s April slate announced, plus Devotion, The Core, Red Eye & Training Day in 4K, Walking Dead: Season 11 & more
All right, we have three more new disc reviews for you all to enjoy today, as well as lots more new announcement news including major 4K catalog titles. So let’s get right to it. First those reviews...
Stephen has turned in his thoughts on Atsuko Ishizuka’s animated Goodbye, Don Glees! (2022, aka Gubbai, Don Gurîzu!), which is newly-available on Blu-ray from GKids and Shout! Factory.
And Tim has posted his thoughts on Laika and Shout! Factory’s new 4K Ultra HD editions of Henry Selick’s stop-motion animated Coraline (2009) in 4K Ultra HD—both the wide-release Amaray version and the Steelbook version.
More reviews are forthcoming this week, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for them.
Now then, Paramount has just officially announced the Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD release of JD Dillard’s Devotion on 2/28. Shout! & Scream reveal their March slate with Exorcist III, Wanted, Streets of Fire & Dead Silence in 4K Ultra HD
We’re checking in today with a rare weekend My Two Cents update to bring you a little bit of new Blu-ray and 4K UHD release news that broke on Friday afternoon.
First though, a reminder... if you haven’t seen our New Year’s Eve post, I spent a little bit of time reflecting back on 25 Years of The Digital Bits, a landmark we officially crossed last month. So whether you’re a longtime reader who’s been with us from the start, or a newcomer to the site who’s curious about how we got started and where we came from, I think you’ll find it a quick and enjoyable read.

And Tim’s look at Peter Traynor’s Death Game (1977) on Blu-ray from Grindhouse Releasing, The Outer Limits: Season One (1963-64) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics, and George A. Romero’s classic Night of the Living Dead (1968) on 4K from Criterion.

In announcement news today, Eureka! has just revealed a new 4K Ultra HD release for the UK, this one featuring Robert Wiene’s landmark horror classic Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari (1920). Look for it to street on 5 December in a limited edition of just 3000 units, complete with a hardbound slipcase and a 100-page booklet. Sony makes Bullet Train official, plus Lionsgate reveals Reservoir Dogs in 4K, Crunchy Roll’s December slate & more
We’ve got two new disc reviews for you on this lovely Tuesday afternoon, both of them by our own Stephen Bjork...
First up, he’s taken a look at Universal’s CG-animated prequel Minions: The Rise of Gru in 4K Ultra HD.
Stephen has also offered his thoughts on Fernando Di Leo’s The Violent Breed (1984) on Blu-ray from Code Red via Kino Lorber.
As mentioned yesterday, more new disc reviews are on the way including a few great new 4K catalog titles, among them The War of the Worlds from Paramount and The Lost Boys from Warner Bros. So watch for those and more in the coming days.
Now then, in announcement news, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially set David Leitch’s Bullet Train (2022) for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 10/18, with the Digital release expected on 9/27. [Read on here...]
