Before we begin this afternoon, our own Tim Salmons has turned in another Pick-Ups Blu-ray review for you to check out, this time featuring a look at Synapse Films' Steelbook release of Dario Argento’s Tenebrae (1982). Do check that out here.

The film itself has been remastered from a new 4K scan, with the participation of director Nicholas Meyer, and will be included on the disc in 1080p in both the original theatrical cut and the slightly longer Director’s Cut, each with 7.1 Dolby TrueHD audio. We posted a pair of new Blu-ray reviews yesterday in the event you missed them: Our own Jim Hemphill offered his thoughts on Twilight’s From the Terrace, and Tim took an in-depth look at Scream Factory’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: Collector’s Edition. Tim has turned in a new Blu-ray review today as well, this time of Red Letter Media’s Space Cop. Do check that out here.
Also here at the site today, our own Russell Hammond has updated the Release Dates & Artwork section with all the latest Blu-ray and DVD cover artwork and Amazon.com pre-order links. Okay... first things first: At some point today, I should have Disney’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray in hand. As soon as I do, I’ll start working on my review and will get it posted as quickly as possible. So be sure to keep checking back for that.
Speaking of Disney, the studio has just set The Finest Hours for Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and digital release on 5/24. Both disc versions will include 2 featurettes (Brotherhood and The Finest Inspiration: The U.S. Coast Guard). To this, the Blu-ray will add the all-new documentary Against All Odds: The Bernie Webber Story, plus 2 more featurettes (Two Crews and What Is Your Finest Hour?), and a pair of deleted scenes (A Desperate Idea and The Story of How They Met). You can see the cover artwork down below. [Read on here…]
