Our exclusive 4K Ultra HD catalog update for early 2023 is here with news of Avatar, Abyss, Dragonslayer, Swamp Thing, African Queen, Maltese Falcon & much more!
All right, we’ve got a bunch of ground to cover today, and the subject for today’s My Two Cents post is what we’re hearing from our industry and retail sources about forthcoming 4K Ultra HD catalog titles expected in the new year. But first, we have a pair of new reviews for you this afternoon...
Dennis has turned in his thoughts on Daniel Man’s 1952 drama Come Back, Little Sheba, which is now available on region-free Blu-ray from the Aussie label Imprint Films. The film stars Burt Lancaster and Shirley Booth.
And Stephen has delivered his in-depth take on AGFA and Something Weird Video’s nine-film, three-disc The Films of Doris Wishman: The Moonlight Years Blu-ray box set, distributed by Vinegar Syndrome.
As always, more new disc reviews are on the way over the coming days, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for them.
Now then, we’ve been circling back with our many industry and retail sources here at The Bits, and we’ve got an update on some interesting titles that are coming to 4K Ultra HD in the months ahead. [Read on here...]

Morbius is official, along with Species, Cat People, JFK Revisited, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Beatles and India & more!
We’ve got one new disc review up here at The Bits today, while we continue our ongoing work to update the website behind-the-scenes...
Tim has posted a look at Random Space Media’s Spider-Man 2-Movie Collection in 4K Ultra HD, which includes Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: Homecoming in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and Blu-ray 3D all in the same package.
But we’ve got a bunch of release news for you today, including a major new title announcement: Sony has just officially set Daniel Espinosa’s Morbius for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 6/14, with the Digital release expected on 5/17.
The 4K disc will include Dolby Atmos audio, while the Blu-ray will feature 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Both discs will also include outtakes and bloopers, “Nocturnal” Easter eggs, and no less than 5 behind-the-scenes featurettes (among them Defining the Antihero, From Human to Vampire: Visual Effects, Lights, Camera, Action, The Good, Bad & Ugly: Supporting Cast Doing the Stunt Work, and Living Vampire from Comics to Screen). You can see the cover artwork for the 4K and Blu-ray below. [Read on here...]

Vinegar Syndrome sets Six-String Samurai for 4K, Blue Underground’s Dead & Buried 4K, Scream’s King Kong (1976) BD features & more new announcements
Let’s close out the week today with another new disc review and more release news...
First, Dennis has just turned in his thoughts on Cecile B. DeMille’s The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) on Blu-ray from Paramount Home Entertainment, the 16th title in their Paramount Presents line. It sounds as if the remaster is a nice one, so do give it a look.
A quick disc update: FUNimation is now shipping out fixed replacement discs for their recent release of Akira in 4K Ultra HD. As some of you know, the original discs lacked the HDR option they were supposed to include. The new fixed discs correct this. My own replacement copy arrived a couple of days ago and I’m really pleased with the HDR grade overall, so I’m going to try to get a review of the fixed version up here at The Bits next week.
On a similar note, Amazon UK has just listed Speed for pre-order in 4K and naturally the cover artwork they’ve posted has caused still more confusion in that it correctly lists DTS-HD MA audio in the features grid on the back, but also (incorrectly) shows a Dolby Atmos logo. What’s more, there’s no mention of any special features. [Read on here...]

Pick-Ups for the Week of February 1, 2016
Welcome back for a new edition of Pick-Ups!
Thank you for joining me. This week I’m going to tackle a few Blu-ray titles from 2015 that we’ve missed here at the site... and don’t worry, not all of it will be horror. I’ve actually got some good movies that were released last year for you to check out. I thought I’d also let you know that I’m working on a column that’s Lord of the Rings related. I’m not sure when I’ll have that up for you, but hopefully sometime soon. [Read on here...]
