All right, this is probably going to be our last post for the week, giving the Thanksgiving holiday here in the States, though we may come back and let you know of any particularly good Black Friday-related Blu-ray and DVD deals as they pop up. Be sure to check our Facebook page for the latest on that score.

But before we go, we have some good stuff for you here at The Bits today…

First of all, our own Michael Coate has just posted a lengthy new History, Legacy & Showmanship column celebrating the 25th anniversary of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade! He’s got release trivia, a list of initial 70mm screenings, and new interviews with film historians and authors Scott Higgins, Eric Lichtenfeld, Joseph McBride and Jonathan Rinzler. Don’t miss it!   [Read on here…]

Also today, we have a trio of new reviews for you to enjoy, including Tim’s take on Criterion’s Master of the House Blu-ray and Shout!’s Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume XXXI – The Turkey Day Collection DVD set, as well as Jeff’s thoughts on Disney’s Maleficent on Blu-ray.

Finally, on the topic of Black Friday Week Deals, Amazon is having a sale this week featuring up to 60% off various Blu-ray and DVD Complete Collections from Universal, including Hitchcock, the Classic Monsters, and more. Plus they’ve got big sales going on classic Universal Sci-Fi titles and TV collections, HBO box sets and more. Be sure to give it a look (click here or on the banner below) and remember that whenever you buy anything from Amazon through our links you’re helping to support our work here at The Bits and we really do appreciate it!

All right, that’s it for now. On behalf of all of us here at The Digital Bits, I’d like to wish you and yours safe travels and a very Happy Thanksgiving! May you all eat lots of turkey and pie (I recommend strawberry rhubarb), watch tons of great movies (don’t forget that the Star Wars: Episode VII teaser trailer rolls out this weekend at select theaters around the country) and have a wonderful time with your family and friends.

See you back here on Monday. Peace out!
