Now then… let’s have some recent announcement news…

First, Warner Bros. officially announced the 8/11 4K Ultra HD release of Tim Burton’s Mars Attacks! (1996) in honor of the film’s 30th anniversary. The 4K disc will include a pair of new features: Looking Back on Mars Attacks! and Ack! Ack! Aesthetic. As is already well known, because pre-orders have been open for a while now, there will be wide release and Steelbook versions [Read on here...]

Also starting to become available for pre-order now, though not yet officially announced, is Warner’s planned 4K release of Neil Jordan’s Interview with the Vampire (1994). We expect that to street in September or October. You can find it available for pre-order on Amazon UK, Zavvi, Gruv, and elsewhere.

While we’re talking Warner Bros., look for the studio to release HBO’s The Sopranos: The Complete Series in 4K Ultra HD on 12/8, including all 86 episodes. The 28-disc set will include a pair of bonus discs and carry over all previous Blu-ray content. Newly added will be a never-before-seen David Chase featurette, and the 2-part HBO documentary Wise Guy: David Chase and The Sopranos.

And pre-orders are now being taken via many retailers for a number of as-yet-announced new titles from Warner and Universal, including Disclosure Day, Batman: Knightfall – Part 1, Supergirl (2026), and more.

We do however have an official street date for Universal’s Project Hail Mary (2026) on Blu-ray, DVD, 4K, and 4K Steelbook—look for it on 10/13. Extras will include audio commentary with the directors, deleted scenes, and the Earth’s Favorite Eridian featurette.

Also, our friends at Arrow Video have announced an amazing slate of 4K and Blu-ray titles for release in September, including a title we first told you was coming months ago: Forbidden Planet in 4K!

The complete slate includes UK only releases of the A Better Tomorrow Trilogy (4K & BD), Night Falls on Manhattan (BD), Desperate Hours (BD), Misery (4K & Blu-ray), and Clive Barker’s Underworld (4K). Also coming is Doug Liman’s Go (4K) in the US and Canada, and Forbidden Planet (4K & BD), Tequila Sunrise (4K & BD), and The Wicked Priest Collection (BD) for the UK, US, and Canada! And on 8/18, look for Django Shoots First (1966) on Blu-ray, and the long-delayed release of Rob Cohen’s Daylight (1996) in 4K Ultra HD.

Shout! Studios has set Tekkonkinkreet for 4K + Blu-ray release on 9/1 (for GKids), as well as the Aces Go Places Collection in 4K + Blu-ray that same day. Also listed for release on 9/15 is Mike Nichols’ Charlie Wilson’s War in 4K + Blu-ray.
