This too will feature HDR10 high dynamic range only, with audio in Dolby Atmos. Once again, a 4K Steelbook edition will also be available. Extras will include audio commentary by the director and 7 featurettes (The Juice is Loose! The Making of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, The Ghost with the Most: Beetlejuice Returns, Meet the Deetz, Handbook for the Recently Deceased, Shrinkers, Shrinkers Everywhere!, An Animated Afterlife: The Stop-Motion Art of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and ‘Til Death Do Us Park). You can see the cover artwork below.
Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just set George Stevens’ The Talk of the Town (1942) for release on 4K Ultra HD on 12/3. The film stars Cary Grant, Jean Arthur, and Ronald Colman. The disc will include Stevens’ restored original version of the film in 4K with Dolby Vision HDR, English mono audio in DTS-HD MA format, a new audio commentary with author Marilyn Ann Moss, and the Talking about Talk of the Town featurette. You’ll find the cover artwork below.
And here’s a very nice surprise: Sony is also releasing Edward Zwick’s Legends of the Fall (1994) in 4K Ultra HD on 12/3! We’ll have more on that soon, but you can certainly expect Dolby Vision HDR, lossless audio in Dolby Atmos or DTS-HD MA format, and all of the legacy special features.
Universal and Blumhouse have set James Watkins’ Speak No Evil (2024) for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/19, with the Digital version now available. Extras will include audio commentary with the director and 3 featurettes (Nuclear Families, A Horrifying Crescendo, and The Farmhouse of Horrors).
Shout! Studios is releasing The Whitest Kids U’Know: The Complete Series (2007-11) in a 10-disc DVD box on 12/3. The set includes news bonus content, plus Seasons 4 and 5 which are new to disc.
Also today, Amazon.com is now taking pre-orders on the Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD release of Chris Sanders’ animated The Wild Robot (2024) from Universal. Street date is TBA, but you can see the cover art below.
Shawn Levy’s Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) is also now available for pre-order on Blu-ray, 4K, and 4K Steelbook on Amazon from Marvel and Disney. The street date is 10/22. A quick update on a title we mentioned the other day: We’ve confirmed with the studio that Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus (2024) will include Dolby Vision HDR when it arrives in 4K UHD on 12/3. But we’ve also been told that the studio isn’t necessarily including Dolby Vision on all 4K titles going forward—instead, it will be decided on a case by case basis. But still, good news. Now if we could just get the studio to commit to using 100GB discs, they’d really be cooking with gas.
Finally today, Disney+ has just dropped the trailer for Laurent Bouzereau’s forthcoming Music by John Williams (2024) documentary, which drops on the streamer on 11/1. It looks pretty fantastic. Here’s a peek...
All right, we’ll leave you with a look at the cover artwork for a bunch of the titles mentioned above and more, with Amazon pre-order links if available...
Back tomorrow with more. Stay tuned!
