We mentioned it yesterday here on the website, but we now have final cover artwork from Lionsgate for their 4K Ultra HD release of Sam Raimi’s original The Evil Dead. You can see it at the left and also below.

Look for the disc to street on 10/9, and to include both a Blu-ray and a Digital Copy, for just $22.99.

As we reported yesterday, the 4K disc will include audio commentary with writer-director Sam Raimi, producer Robert Tapert, and star Bruce Campbell. The film has apparently been scanned in 4K (presumably from the original 16mm, though the studio’s press release doesn’t indicated the source), and the disc will feature Dolby Vision HDR and English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio. In addition, while it’s not yet been officially announced, we have word from retailers that Lionsgate is also going to release John Carpenter’s original Halloween on 4K Ultra HD on 9/25. We’re awaiting official detail on that, but we do at least have cover artwork for you (Amazon pre-order links will be added as soon as they go live)...

We also have word that Lionsgate is going to distribute Studio Canal’s new 4K Ultra HD release of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead 2 later in October (around 10/28-ish, per Zavvi’s UK Steelbook date of 10/29), but that is also not yet announced officially.

Lionsgate has also set Gotti for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/25, starring John Travolta.

Meanwhile, Scream Factory has set the 1980s thriller Scream for Help for Blu-ray release on 9/18.

Sony has set the documentary Elvis Presley: The Searcher for regular and limited edition DVD release on 10/16.

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has set It’s Pat: The Movie (1994) and Kazaam (1996) for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/16, followed by Gun Shy (2000) and High Heels and Low Lifes (2001) for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/23.

Umbrella Entertainment is going to be releasing Cotton Club on Blu-ray on 9/14.

MVD Entertainment has announced that The Us Generation: The Making of the 1982 Us Festival documentary is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on 8/10, featuring new behind-the-scenes interviews and remastered live performances from The Police, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Fleetwood Mac, Santana, The Cars, The B-52s, and more.

That’s all for now. Stay tuned...
