Twin Peaks Blu-ray box official for 7/29, plus James Clavell's Shogun & more!

All right, real quick update today with great news at least for you Twin Peaks fans! Almost exactly a year after we first broke the news here at The Digital Bits that CBS was hard at work on a Blu-ray upgrade of their own Definitive Gold Box Edition DVD release, CBS has just revealed via Entertainment Weekly that Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery and The Missing Pieces will street on Blu-ray Disc on 7/29 (you can pre-order it now here on Amazon.com). In addition to containing nearly everything that was on the Gold Box DVD set, the Blu-ray box will also include the prequel film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Series creator David Lynch, CBS and special edition producer Charles de Lauzirika have also created new extras just for this release. The set will even include 90 minutes’ worth never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes from the film. Full specs are available here and we'll talk more about the extras tomorrow. By the way, in case you’re wondering, Paramount has also finally set James Clavell’s Shogun miniseries for Blu-ray release on 7/22. The release was originally announced months ago, but was delayed, presumably for production reasons. You can see the cover artwork below.

In addition, Paramount will release Awkward: Season Three, Californication: The Final Season, Californication: The Complete Series, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Good, The Bad, and Casey Jones on DVD on 8/5, with Gunsmoke: The Tenth Season, Volume One and Gunsmoke: The Tenth Season, Volume Two following on DVD on 8/12.

Also today, Starz and Anchor Bay have set Railway Man for Blu-ray release on 8/12.

Well Go USA has set Swelter for Blu-ray and DVD release on 8/12.

Magnolia will release The Protector 2 on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD on 7/29.

Koch Entertainment and the Coen Film Collection will release The Wind Will Carry Us on Blu-ray and DVD on 7/22.

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will release Dom Hemingway on Blu-ray and DVD on 7/22, starring Jude Law and Richard Graham.

Asylum Entertainment will release Blood Lake on Blu-ray on 7/22. They also have Hercules Reborn coming on Blu-ray on 7/8.

And finally, A.D. Vision will release the anime Flowers of Evil: The Complete Collection on Blu-ray on 7/8.
