In announcement news afternoon, Lionsgate has set the South Korean filmmaker Kogonada’s sci-fi drama After Yang for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on 6/21. Lionsgate will also release the WWII actioner Wolf Hound on Blu-ray and DVD on 7/12.
Lionsgate’s Everything Everywhere All at Once is also now officially listed for release on Amazon on 6/14* on Blu-ray and DVD (and you can see the cover artwork below). *[Editor’s Note: We’ve been informed by the studio that 6/14 is NOT the final street date. We expect the title to be announced soon and will update you then.]
Paramount has set a Good Burger: 25th Anniversary Limited Edition Steelbook for Blu-ray release on 7/19. Paramount also has a Rough Cut: Paramount Presents release coming on Blu-ray on 7/12. The studio will release Last Vegas and The Hunted on Blu-ray on 7/5. Look for the Eddie Murphy catalog titles Harlem Nights and Boomerang on Blu-ray on 6/28. And the Amazon Original Chris Pine actioner The Contractor is coming on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K on 6/7.
Sony will release Wilde, Love and Human Remains, and Hacks: Season 1 on Blu-ray on 6/14.
The Warner Archive Collection has set For Me and My Gal (1942), The Clock (1945), and Ziegfeld Girl (1941) for Blu-ray release on 6/7.
Mill Creek Entertainment has set the Ultraman Mebius Collection for DVD only release on 5/24 (SRP $40.99), featuring Ultraman Mebius: The Complete Series, Ultraman Mebius and Ultra Brothers, Ultraman Mebius Side Story: Ghost Rebirth, Ultraman Mebius Side Story: Armored Darkness, and Ultraman Mebius Side Story: Hikari Saga.
Wild Eye Releasing has set an Amityville Double Feature (of Amityville in the Hood and Amityville in Space) for Blu-ray release on 8/23.
Our friends at Kino Lorber Studio Classics have set Tarantulas: The Deadly Cargo (1977), Ants! (1977), and Terror Out of the Sky (1987 – aka Revenge of the Savage Bees) for Blu-ray release on 7/5, followed by Steele Justice (1987) on 7/12, and The Film Noir: The Dark Side of Cinema VIII box set on 7/19 (with Street of Change, Enter Arsene Lupin, and Temptation). And newly-revealed as coming soon to Blu-ray from KLSC are Programmed to Kill (1987) and seven classics by director François Truffaut, including The Bride Wore Black (1968), Mississippi Mermaid (1969), The Wild Child (1970), The Story of Adele H (1975), Small Change (1976), The Man Who Loved Women (1977), and The Green Room (1978).
By the way, we mentioned Imprint’s July slate yesterday, but don’t forget about their fine June line-up of historical classics, which is set to include Barabbas (1961), Julius Caesar (1970), The Nelson Affair (1973), Damn the Defiant! (1962), A Night to Remember (1958), and The Long Ships (1964) on Blu-ray on 6/29.
Also, retail sources are hinting that Shout! and Scream Factory will release a Species: Collector’s Edition on 4K Ultra HD on 7/26 (though do keep in mind, it has not yet been officially announced).
And the BFI has officially set Get Carter (1971) for Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD release on 7/25 in the UK. You can see that below as well (with a link to Amazon.co.uk). Thanks to Bits reader Josh J-F for the heads-up!
Finally today, it’s come to our attention that Arrow Video’s recent 4K UHD release of Terry Gilliam’s 12 Monkeys has a series of shots included out of order. You can see a comparison with the Universal Blu-ray on YouTube here. Thanks to Bits reader Demetrios P. for alerting us to this. We’re told that Arrow Video is aware of the issue and will presumably move to correct it.
