Then I’ll wrap up, likely tomorrow, with The Force Awakens, the new 4K version of The Last Jedi, and Rogue One. I’m not sure when I’ll get my hands on the new version of Solo in 4K, but I’ll review that one too as soon as I do. And of course, I reviewed The Rise of Skywalker in 4K a couple weeks ago.
And when I’m done with all that, I’ll say a few words about the Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga 4K box set in general. The thing to know is that the discs are the same whether you get them in the box or as single-film 4K editions. Except Solo and Rogue One are not in the box and must be purchased separately.
Meanwhile, I should note that Tim has also checked in with his thoughts on Michele Soavi’s The Church (1989) on Blu-ray from Scorpion Releasing.
He’ll have more reviews for you too in the coming days.
In other news, we have a sneak peek at the cover artwork for Paramount’s War of the Worlds and Days of Thunder in 4K Ultra HD. The smart money says those are coming in June.
And we’ve also included another look at Warner’s The Goonies in 4K, due in June as well.
Finally today, we need to take a moment to acknowledge the passing of filmmaker Stuart Gordon, who died last night at the age of 72. Gordon is best known for directing the cult classic horror titles Re-Animator and From Beyond. He was also the co-creator of the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids franchise. You can read more on him here at Variety.
All right, check back on our review page here at The Bits this afternoon, or follow my Twitter page @BillHuntBits, for links to those Prequel 4K reviews as they’re posted.
