Also today, Paramount has officially announced a new Chicago: 20th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray Steelbook for release on 2/7. The package will include audio commentary with director Rob Marshall and screenwriter Bill Condon, the 14-part Chicago in the Spotlight: A Retrospective with Cast and Crew documentary, and 13 Extended Musical Performances.
Speaking of Paramount, the studio has just set Confess, Fletch for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 4/4.
Universal Studios has set Sarah Polley’s Women Talking for Blu-ray and DVD release on 3/7.
We’ve also confirmed that Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans will arrive on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 2/14.
Lionsgate will release The Serpent Queen TV series on Digital only on 3/6.
Lionsgate will also be re-issuing the John Wick Trilogy in 4K Ultra HD on 2/28 as a new John Wick 1-3: Stash Book Collection Steelbook Box Set exclusively at Best Buy.
For TV sci-fi fans, the BBC has set Doctor Who: William Hartnell Complete Season Two for Blu-ray release on 3/28.
Kino Lorber Studio Classics has just confirmed Sidney Lumet’s 12 Angry Men (1957) for 4K Ultra HD release on 3/28. They’re also working on a 4K UHD edition of Guy Ritchie’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998).
Newly-revealed as coming to Blu-ray from KLSC in March are William Dieterle’s Love Letters (1945) and Richard Goldstone and John Monks Jr.’s No Man is an Island (1962) on 3/14, followed by Frank Tuttle’s Lucky Jordan (1942) and Elliott Nugent’s Never Say Die (1939) on 3/21. And Douglas Sirk’s Has Anybody Seen My Gal? (1952) and Ida Lupino’s Outrage (1950) have both been announced by the company as “coming soon” to the format.
In other news, Imprint Films has revealed their March slate of Blu-ray titles, which will include Bernardo Bertolucci’s Little Buddha (1993), Bille August’s The House of the Spirits (1993), Mike Hodges’ I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead (2003), Adrian Lyne’s Jacob’s Ladder (1990), Ulu Grosbard’s Georgia (1995), and Joseph Ruben’s Return to Paradise (1998). Look for those to street in Australia on 3/29 (they’re due to be in stock and shipping on Amazon on 4/7).
Daisy von Scherler Mayer’s Party Girl (1995) is coming to Blu-ray on 3/28 from Fun City Editions.
Dorado Films, Inc. will release Joaquín Luis Romero Marchent’s The Seven from Texas (1964) on Blu-ray on 3/28.
Severin Films has set Dario Argento’s The Five Days (1973) for 4K Ultra HD release on 3/28 as well. Also coming from Severin to Blu-ray on 1/31 is Warren Kiefer’s Castle of the Living Dead (1964), starring Christopher Lee.
PBS Masterpiece has set All Creatures Great & Small: Season 3 for Blu-ray and DVD release on 3/14.
VCI Entertainment will release Mervyn LeRoy’s Tonight or Never (1931) on Blu-ray on 3/14.
Ronin Flix has slated Karel Reisz’s Who’ll Stop The Rain (1978), Donald P. Bellisario’s Last Rights (1988), George Bowers’s Body and Soul (1981), and Zalman King’s Wild Orchid II: Two Shades of Blue (1991) for Blu-ray release on 3/14.
Also, Full Moon Pictures will release Jeff Leroy’s Giantess Attack vs. Mecha-Fembot! (2019) on Blu-ray on 3/14.
Image will release Alison Locke’s The Apology on Blu-ray and DVD on 3/14.
Umbrella Entertainment has set John Guillermin’s King Kong Lives (1976) for Blu-ray on 1/27.
And finally today, Curzon Film in the UK has just announced that they’re going to be working on new 4K Ultra HD releases of Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Three Colors Trilogy (1993-94) and The Double Life of Veronique (1991). Both titles have been released on Blu-ray by Criterion here in the States, and Criterion has already announced their own Three Colors Trilogy 4K Ultra HD edition for release on 2/7. (It’s unknown whether they’re working on Veronique for 4K as well.)
