Afternoon folks! We’re kicking off the new week with a pair of new Twilight Time Blu-ray reviews from our own Jim Hemphill. He’s taken a look at Hal Ashby’s comedy The Last Detail (1973) and George Roy Hill’s Hawaii (1966). Both are well worth your time, so do give them a look.
Before we get to the announcement news for the day, Amazon is having Deal of the Day sales on a number of Batman and Superman Blu-ray and DVD titles today, in honor of the release this week of Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice (the early reviews of which are pretty good apparently). You can click here for up to 77% off Batman DVD and BD titles (including the Classic TV Series, the Tim Burton movie collection, and the Christopher Nolan movie collection), and here for 80% off Superman DVD and BD titles (including the Man of Steel: Collector’s Edition and Smallville: The Complete Series). Act fast to take advantage. [Read on here…]

Fox’s X-Files: S8 replacement discs shipping, plus Twilight’s May/June slates & my SPECTRE BD review
[Editor’s Note: Be sure to follow us on Twitter @thedigitalbits @BillHuntBits and on Facebook here and here.]
Merry Monday. We hope the weekend treated you all well.
Today’s is a quick update, as I was up late last night finishing my review of MGM’s SPECTRE on Blu-ray, which streets tomorrow. So my review of SPECTRE is, in fact, the first thing I wanted to mention here today. I’m a huge Bond fan and have really liked the Daniel Craig era thus far, but with SPECTRE I feel as if EON may have jumped the shark. What would the Bond equivalent be? Jumped the Thames, I suppose. Anyway, do check out the review, see what I mean, and let me know what you think on Facebook and Twitter (via the links above). [Read on here…]

The Sundance Kid Rides into Town
I can probably state as fact that many of you reading this are not familiar at all with the general manager of your local cable company – I guess most are bean counters, flesh pressers and empty suits. Oklahoma City, from whence I hail, has been very fortunate with Cox Communications – their company is very community driven and its management staff very public and outgoing. [Read on here…]
