Also here at The Bits today, Tim Salmons has posted a new Blu-ray review for you to check out: Aardman Animation’s Shaun the Sheep Movie from Lionsgate. More reviews are on the way, so stay tuned.
And our own Russell Hammond has updated the Release Dates & Artwork section with all the latest Blu-ray and DVD cover artwork and Amazon.com pre-order links. Anytime you order from Amazon after clicking through our links, you’re helping to support our work here at The Bits and we surely do appreciate it.
In announcement news, Universal has officially set Steve Jobs for Blu-ray and DVD release on 2/16. The Blu-ray will include the Inside Jobs: The Making of Steve Jobs featurette, feature commentary with director Danny Boyle, and feature commentary with writer Aaron Sorkin and editor Elliot Graham.
Universal has also set Kahlil Gibran’s animated The Prophet for Blu-ray and DVD release on 2/2.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially set The Walk for Blu-ray 3D Combo, Blu-ray Combo, and DVD release on 1/5.
Sony has also set Freaks of Nature for Blu-ray and DVD release on 1/9.
Also, Mill Creek Entertainment has set My Science Project for Blu-ray release on 2/16.
Lionsgate has finally set Little House on the Prairie: Season 7 for Blu-ray release on 12/26, but it looks as though it’s a manufactured on demand (MOD) Blu-ray release. MOD or not, you can purchase it from Amazon (see the cover art link below).
Well Go USA has set Estranged for Blu-ray release on 2/16.
And Eastern Star has set Samurai Pizza Cats: The Complete Series for release on Blu-ray on 1/19, but this is a “Standard Definition on Blu-ray” release, not true HD. Buyer beware.
A quick note: It appears that the bonus code that comes with Paramount’s new Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation Blu-ray (see our review here – the code is for a bonus copy of one of the other Mission: Impossible films of your choice) isn’t actually a UV code but rather a coupon code. Just follow the “choose your mission” instructions on the paper insert and use the code as a coupon code when you check out. That comes straight from our old pal Doogan, by the way.
Now then... here’s a look at some new Blu-ray Disc cover artwork, with Amazon pre-order links if available...
Note that I’m still working on my X-Files box set Blu-ray review – there’s a LOT of content to check.
Also, beware that reviews for The Force Awakens are going to start appearing online tomorrow (Wednesday), so take great care when surfing online if you want to remain unspoiled. Our friends who have seen the film seem VERY happy with it, so that’s a good sign and it’s all we care to know in advance.
That’s it for now. Stay tuned...
