All right, we’ve got a quick rundown of release news for you today...

First up, Universal has just announced the release of Countdown on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/21, with the Digital release due on 1/7.

Any fans of Mister Rogers out there? In addition to the new A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood movie starring Tom Hanks, which hits theaters tomorrow, PBS has announced that 322 classic episodes of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood (originating from 1968 to 2001) are now available for streaming on the PBS Kids Video Channel.

Unfortunately, Kino Lorber Studio Classics has had to cancel their tentative release of Sergio Leone’s The Man with No Name trilogy in 4K Ultra HD, licensed from MGM. This decision was apparently made “after some extensive tests and potential costs of creating newly color-graded HDR Dolby Vision masters.” In other words, the films would simply have required too much work and money to remaster properly, and that amount exceeded the potential for the project to be profitable to Kino. Hey, I at least give them credit for trying. Fortunately, KL Studio Classics still has three as-yet-unannounced titles coming to 4K UHD next year. So that’s something.

Also today, RLJ Entertainment has set Giddens Ko’s 2017 Taiwanese horror-comedy Mon Mon Mon Monsters for release on Blu-ray on 2/4.

And Mill Creek Entertainment has unveiled a nice slate of Blu-ray and DVD titles it plans to release in February 2020, including Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: The Complete Series (Blu-ray and DVD), Pagan Warrior (DVD), What the Night Can Do (DVD), The Girl in the Crawlspace (DVD), and Restricted Area (DVD) on 2/4, Ultraman Orb: The Origin Saga (includes Ultra Fight Orb) (Blu-ray), a double-feature of Rosewood Lane & White Noise: The Light (Blu-ray), a double-feature of Wild Child & Life Happens (Blu-ray), Hudson Hawk (retro-VHS style Blu-ray packaging), No Mercy (retro-VHS style Blu-ray packaging), Vibes (retro-VHS style Blu-ray packaging), and When a Stranger Calls (retro-VHS style Blu-ray packaging) on 2/11, and Return of Ultraman: The Complete Series (1974 – Blu-ray and Blu-ray Steelbook) on 2/25.

That’s all for now. Stay tuned...
