Let’s get right down to business to start the new week…

First up, we’ve got a trio of new disc reviews for you to check out. I’ve offered my thoughts on Sony’s new A Few Good Men: 25th Anniversary Edition on 4K Ultra HD, which is one of the best film-based catalog titles I’ve seen yet on the format in terms of A/V quality. I’ve also posted a review of Netflix’s Target-exclusive Stranger Things: Season 1 on Ultra HD, which is native 4K but has no HDR and only lossy audio – a real disappointment, all things considered. Meanwhile, Tim has posted his review of Shout! Factory’s new Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume XXXIX box set on DVD. Note that more Blu-ray and 4K reviews are on the way all this week, so keep checking back. [Read on here…]

Now… this is Black Friday Week here in the States, as most of you are well aware. Given the holiday, there’s unlikely to be a lot of announcement news this week. So we’re going to check in each morning all week with a list of some of the best deals to be found on Amazon.com in the way of BD, 4K and 4K displays. Of course, we’re an Amazon affiliate, so if you would consider shopping through our links this week, we’d surely appreciate it. More on this in a minute.

First, we do have one big piece of announcement news for you today: Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced the release of The Christopher Nolan Collection in 4K Ultra HD. Streeting on 12/19, the package will include the 4K Ultra HD editions of Warner’s Dunkirk, Inception, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises, as well as Interstellar (via Paramount), and The Prestige (via Disney). The box set will carry an SRP of $149.99. You’ll also be able to buy The Dark Knight Trilogy on 4K Ultra HD for $70.99, and Dunkirk, Inception, The Prestige, and Interstellar will all be available seperately on the format that day for around $29.99 each (on sale). The specs for each film will vary, but all of these were finished on film – and many were shot, at least in part, on large format 65 mm – so they should all feature native 4K scans. And, of course, the previous Blu-ray editions will be included too, with all of their respective special features. You can watch the official announcement trailer right here…

As it happens, I had the privilage of attening a private reception, held by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Friday night, to celebrate this collection. Christipher Nolan and much of the cast of Dunkirk were in attendence. The actual 4K presentations of Dunkirk and Interstellar were on display too (along with clips from the other films), so I’ve gotten a good sneak peek at them. Let me tell you: The image quality on the Dunkirk UHD especially is just jaw-dropping. This is likely to be one of your favorite new reference titles on the format. I can’t wait to get my hands on these discs to review them for you guys – rest assured I will be reviewing the whole set. Fans of Nolan’s films, who’ve made the leap to 4K, are going to be very, very happy indeed come 12/19. This is your first must-have box set on the Ultra HD format. You can see the cover art for the collection to the left and below.

Now then… we have just a little bit of additional 4K news for you today. We’ve learned that Paramount is preparing Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane for release on the format in early 2018. We’ve updated our handy 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits with the new information.

All right, here are some of Today’s Best Black Friday BD/4K Deals on Amazon
