Oh, but there’s more 4K and Blu-ray news to report today...
Shout! and Scream Factory have revealed their January 2023 release slate, which is set to include a Season of Love double feature (DVD) and Ouija (2014 – 4K UHD/Blu-ray) on 1/10, Wrath of Man (2021 – 4K UHD/Blu-ray), Gunfight at Rio Bravo (DVD), and a They Live Steelbook (4K UHD/Blu-ray and 4K UHD/Blu-ray Deluxe Edition) on 1/17, the Halloween Ends: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Vinyl LP) on 1/20, The Jackie Chan Collection: Volume 1 (1976-1982) box set (Blu-ray), Inu-Oh (Blu-ray), and Freaky (2004 – 4K UHD/Blu-ray) on 1/24, and Sesame Street: Elmo & Tango – Furry Friends Forever (DVD) and Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead (2004 – 4K UHD/Blu-ray) on 1/31.
The Jackie Chan Collection: Volume 1 (1976-1982) set will include The Killer Meteors (1976), Shaolin Wooden Men (1976), To Kill with Intrigue (1977), Snake and Crane Arts of Shaolin (1978), Dragon Fist (1979), Battle Creek Brawl (1980), and Dragon Lord (1982). You can see the cover artwork for many of these below.
Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially set The Woman King for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 12/13.
Sony will also release Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile (2023) on all three formats that same day.
Paramount will release Smile (2022) on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 12/13 as well.
On the catalog front, Paramount has just set Double Jeopardy (1999) for release in 4K Ultra HD on 1/17/23 as a new Paramount Presents Limited Edition. They’re also re-issuing Cloverfield in 4K Steelbook packaging that same day.
And we have one more bit of catalog release news for you this afternoon...
Our friends at Kino Lorber Studio Classics have just announced Robert Short’s Programmed to Kill (1987) for Blu-ray release on 1/17, followed by Orson Welles’ The Lady from Shanghai (1948) and Peter Newbrook’s The Asphyx (1972) on Blu-ray and Peter Collinson’s The Italian Job (1969) on 4K Ultra HD on 1/31.
