Also today, our friends at Vinegar Syndrome have just revealed new November Blu-ray and 4K titles that are now available for pre-order. Paul Morrissey’s Flesh for Frankenstein is arriving on 4K Ultra HD as we expected (and this title will include Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D versions as well in the same package), but look also for William Malone’s Creature and Dario Argento’s Trauma on Blu-ray Disc. And that’s not all: There are two additional titles yet to be announced, including another 4K and an additional Blu-ray. The other two titles will be revealed soon, and you can expect all of them to ship out around the end of November (11/26-29).
Meanwhile, Lionsgate has officially set its Steel Dawn: Vestron Video Collector’s Series Blu-ray for release on 10/26, complete with audio commentary by director Lance Hool, crew interviews (with screenwriter Doug Lefler, director of photography George Tirl, production designer Alex Tavoularis, and costume designer Poppy Cannon-Reese), the Making of Steel Dawn archival featurette, a still gallery, and the film’s theatrical trailer.
Kino Lorber Studio Classics has just set Get Crazy (1983), The Long Goodbye (1973), and Mr. Majestyk (1974) for Blu-ray release on 12/7.
And Imprint Films has just revealed their December Blu-ray slate of Australian-import (but all region) Blu-ray titles, which is set to include The Parallax View (1974), Outrage (1950), The Naked Jungle (1954), The Country Girl (1954), House of Cards (1968), Lady in a Cage (1964), Kitten with a Whip (1964), and Last Train from Gun Hill (1959). All of these are due to street on 12/29.
In a bit of 4K UHD news today, we have word from David Jenkins of Letterboxd that David Lynch’s Mulholland Dr., which is set for US release in 4K Ultra HD from Criterion on 11/16, is officially coming in the UK from StudioCanal. Street date is yet to be determined, but here’s the relevant Tweet.
One last piece of film-related trivia this afternoon: Some of you may have seen this already, but when SpaceX’s Inspiration4 space mission came back to Earth last week, one of its crew members—Chris Sembroski—took advantage of the in-flight entertainment options to watch Spaceballs as they waited for re-entry!
