All right, first up today, we have more new disc reviews for you...

I’ve just posted my in-depth look at Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story in 4K Ultra HD from Disney and Lucasfilm. The three-disc set has nearly two hours of extras on the bonus Blu-ray and they’re pretty great. The title looks and sounds very nice in 4K Ultra HD as well. You can find the review here.

Meanwhile, I’ve also reviewed Shintao Katsu’s Zatoichi (1989), aka Zatoichi: Darkness Is His Ally, now available on Blu-ray at long last from Media Blasters and Tokyo Shock. If you’re a Zatoichi fan, it’s a perfect match to the amazing Criterion Blu-ray box set and completes the long-running Japanese film saga on Blu-ray.

Also, Dennis Seuling has checked in with his thoughts on Focus Films and Universal’s Won’t You Be My Neighbor? documentary about Fred Rogers on Blu-ray.

We have more new Blu-ray and 4K reviews on the way, so be sure to watch for them. [Read on here...]

In announcement news today, Lionsgate and Starz have officially set Ash vs Evil Dead: The Complete Collection for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/16. The 6-disc set contains all three seasons plus extras, for $49.99 and $49.98, respectively.

Shout! Factory has just set The Sound of Music: Live for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/6. Extras will include audio commentary with Kara Tointon and Julian Ovenden, and a behind-the-scenes featurette.

Shout! has also officially announced The Man in the Iron Mask: 20th Anniversary Edition for release on Blu-ray on 10/9 as a Shout Select title. Extras will include a new 4K scan of the original camera negative, new interviews with producer Paul Hitchcock and production designer Anthony Pratt, audio commentary by writer/director Randall Wallace, 3 featurettes (Myth and The Musketeers, Director’s Take, and Original Behind-the-Scenes), a gallery of alternate mask prototypes, and the film’s theatrical trailer.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has just set Teen Titans GO! to the Movies for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/30, with the Digital release expected on 10/9.

And a quick follow-up on our Panic Room and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 4K update from Monday: Press people representing Sony Pictures Home Entertainment are saying that Sony has no plans to release either film on 4K here in the States in 2019. And it appears that they are no longer available for pre-order on Best Buy. European retailers still indicate that the title if coming, however. As soon as we hear anything more, we’ll let you know. In the meantime, we’ve updated the 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits to reflect the updated information.

Okay, that’s all for now. Stay tuned...
