But the disc will include a new 4K scan of the original camera negative, a new Dolby Atmos soundtrack, and HDR10 high dynamic range. And here’s a surprise: The 4K disc will include three new special features. Look for V for Vendetta Unmasked, Natalie Portman’s Audition, and James McTeigue & Lana Wachowski in Conversation.

The package will also include the previous Blu-ray edition which will feature all of the legacy special features as well as a Digital Copy (we don’t know yet if the Blu-ray is mastered from the new scan). You can see the cover artwork below.

Meanwhile, Zavvi is offering Universal’s Back to the Future Trilogy in 4K Ultra HD in an exclusive Steelbook edition. We’ve been told that the Blu-ray Discs in this set will be all region, and of course the 4K discs are always all region. Also still available at Zavvi (while supplies last) are their Steelbook 4Ks of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (click here for US and here for UK) and American Gangster (click here for US and here for UK).

In other news today, Second Sight Films has announced on Twitter that their next limited edition Blu-ray release will be Neil Marshall’s Dog Soldiers. You can visit their website for the details as they become available.

RLJE Films has set Aaron Koontz’s horror/western The Pale Door for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/6.

RLJE also has Eli Roth’s History of Horror: Season One coming on Blu-ray and DVD that same day.

Lionsgate will release The Secret: Dare to Dream on Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand on 9/22, with the Digital release set for 9/15.

And Kino Lorber Studio Classics has announced that Rouben Mamoulian’s pre-code musical comedy Love Me Tonight (1932) will street on Blu-ray Disc on 9/29, mastered from a new 4K scan. The film stars Maurice Chevalier and Jeanette MacDonald.

By the way, we know some of you will appreciate this: Sony’s Columbia Classics 4K Ultra HD Collection: Volume 1 is finally back in stock at Amazon (click here for that). So if you’ve been wanting to get a copy, now’s the time before it sells out again. We don’t know when (or if) these films will be available in 4K as singles, so do plan accordingly.

Now then, I’ve literally just gotten Lionsgate’s Ghost in the Shell 4K Ultra HD in hand, so I’m going to start working on a review of that shortly. Watch the site later tonight or tomorrow AM for that.

Also, it’s come to our attention that there may be an error in Universal’s The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection in 4K Ultra HD. Specifically, the Psycho 4K disc is supposed to include the original theatrical mono audio. But it appears instead that the mono included is actually a fold-down of the new DTS:X mix on the disc—so it’s NOT the original theatrical sound experience. We’ve gotten word into the studio and we’ll see what they say. I expect to start working on a review of that set this weekend. We’ll post updates on this as we hear anything back.
