Coming to Blu-ray only on 11/14 from Mondo Macabro and CAV are Xavier Seto’s Shadow of Death (1969) and Jess Franco’s The Sinister Dr. Orloff (1984).

Kino Lorber has announced that they’re launching a new Kino Cult label in October, starting with new Blu-ray special editions of Jess Franco’s Lorna the Exorcist (1974) and Phil Smoot’s Alien Outlaw (1985) and The Dark Power (1985). They’re also going to release some 4K UHD titles, including George Pavulou’s Underworld (1985), with Ilsa: She-Wolf of the SS (1975), Ilsa: Harem Keeper of the Oil Sheiks (1976), Ilsa the Tigress of Siberia (1977), and Ilsa, the Wicked Woman (1977) already announced (and planned for next year).

And Paramount has announced that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is now available on Digital, and the physical Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD street dates will be announced at a later date. (Note that our industry sources are suggesting a street date of 11/21.)

Also, we have more “unofficial” release dates for you today from our industry and retailer sources, including catalog 4K and new release Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD titles as well. But do keep in mind that all of these dates should be considered unofficially and subject to change until the studios in question make their actual announcements...

It appears that Paramount may be getting ready to release David Zucker’s The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988) on 4K Ultra HD on 11/18. The pre-order page briefly appeared on Amazon but has since been pulled down. And it should be noted that all three Naked Guns films are already available in 4K Digital. So a physical release makes a lot of sense.

We also continue to hear that Paramount is looking at 10/31 as the street date for Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023).

You may recall that we revealed last week that Oliver Stone’s JFK (1991) and Alexander (2004) are coming to 4K Ultra HD. Multiple sources now have suggested that they’re likely coming from Shout! Factory, either in Q4 of this year or early Q1 of next year. No, we don’t know which versions, so be patient—all should be revealed in good time.

Meanwhile, we’re hearing that Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment and DC Studios are tentatively planning a 10/17 street date for Angel Manuel Soto’s Blue Beetle (2023). Warner is also likely to release Michael Chaves’ The Nun II (2023) on physical media on 11/14.

We expect Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to drop Neill Blomkamp’s Gran Turismo (2023) on disc on 10/31, with Antoine Fuqua’s The Equalizer 3 (2023) likely to follow on 11/14. And look for Sony to re-issue their previous 4K editions of Stand by Me, The Guns of Navarone, Black Hawk Down, and A Few Good Men as 4K Steelbooks before the end of the year, this time with Dolby Vision HDR.

Also, Lucasfilm has posted a good interview with legendary sound mixer Walter Murch, in which he discusses his work and the new 5.1 mix for George Lucas’ American Graffiti (1973), which is coming to 4K UHD from Universal on 11/7.
