Also today, our friends at Criterion have just announced a new CC40 Blu-ray box set celebrating forty years of the Criterion Collection! Due on 11/19, the box set will include “an eclectic selection [of] the releases most frequently chosen by the hundreds of filmmakers, actors, writers, and other movie-loving luminaries who have visited Criterion over the years, as documented in our popular Closet Picks video series.”

Meanwhile, Universal has set Thomas Bezucha’s Let Him Go (2020) for release on 4K Ultra HD on 8/27. The film stars Kevin Costner and Diane Lane.
Severin Films will release Antonio Margheriti and Sergio Corbucci’s Castle of Blood (1964) in 4K Ultra HD in standard-edition packaging on 8/27.
Paramount has revealed that they’re going to be releasing a Transformers: 7-Movie Collection in 4K Ultra HD on 9/24. All of the previous live action films from 2007 to 2023 will be included.
Paramount is also releasing a Beverly Hills Cop: 3-Movie Collection in 4K Ultra HD on 8/13.
Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has set Chuck Jones’ animated Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966) for standalone 4K release on 10/29.
Here’s something interesting: In the UK, StudioCanal will be releasing Roger Spottiswoode’s Air America (1990) in 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on 10/7. The company is also releasing Michael Anderson’s Orca, the Killer Whale (1977) in 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on 9/2.
Finally, Cult Epics has set Tinto Brass’ Cheeky (2000) for release on 4K Ultra HD on 10/22.
And in other news today, we’ve got word of another good film screening in SoCal: Our friend Arnold Leibovit is putting on a new Flights of Fantasy event at the Fine Arts Theatre on Saturday 10/5. George Pal’s The Time Machine (1960) will be screened along with a selection of 3 George Pal Puppetoon shorts that include The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins (1943), Together in the Weather (1946), and Bravo Mr. Strauss (1943).
