Lionsgate has set Rapture-Palooza for BD and DVD release on 8/20.
And IFC will release The Reluctant Fundamentalist on Blu-ray on 8/27.
Also today, you can now pre-order Warner’s James Dean: Ultimate Collector’s Edition on Amazon.com. The set will apparently include audio commentary on all three films, 3 feature-length documentaries (James Dean: Sense Memories, James Dean: Forever Young and George Stevens: A Filmmaker’s Journey), the all-new Dennis Hopper: Memories from the Warner Lot featurette, 5 vintage documentaries (James Dean Remembered, Forever James Dean, George Stevens: Filmmakers Who Knew Him, Return to Giant and Memories of Giant), 2 more vintage featurettes (East of Eden: Art in Search of Life and Rebel Without a Cause: Defiant Innocents Expert), premiere footage, wardrobe tests, screen tests, deleted scenes, Behind the Cameras episodes, trailers and more. You’ll also get a 40-page hardcover book, reproductions of photographs and production memos, and a trio of mini reproductions of the original theatrical posters for each film. No street date is yet available, but we expect it to be set for release in late September or very early October. SRP is set at $99.98. It looks like you’ll also be able to buy the individual films contained in the set – Giant, East of Eden and Rebel Without a Cause – in separate Blu-ray Book packaging for $27.98 each. Here’s a look at the posted cover art and product shots for all of the above…
By the way, you can also now pre-order Fox’s The Wolverine (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray) on Amazon.com, along with an X-Men: The Adamantium Collection – Limited Collector’s Edition (Blu-ray), which has all of the previous films along with The Wolverine (and comes with replica Wolverine claw packaging). Also available for pre-order is Universal’s R.I.P.D. (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray). No street date is yet available for either, but here’s a look at the preliminary temp cover art for The Wolverine and X-Men: The Adamantium Collection – Limited Collector’s Edition, as well as Warner’s Pacific Rim (Blu-ray 3D – street date TBA) and Summit’s Now You See Me BD (due 9/3)…
