Also today, our friends at the Warner Archive Collection have just unveiled their August Blu-ray slate, which will officially include George Cukor’s Little Women (1933), William Dieterle’s The Life of Emile Zola (1937), Vincente Minnelli’s Father’s Little Dividend (1951), Jacques Tourneur’s Wyatt Earp western Wichita (1955), Abe Levitow’s animated musical Gay Purr-ee (1962)—which features the voice talents of Judy Garland and Robert Goulet, with a script by Chuck Jones—and Norman Taurog’s Elvis Presley musical comedy Spinout (1966). You’ll find the cover art for those below as well.
Meanwhile, Paramount has just set Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Season Three for Blu-ray and DVD release on 9/26, though there’s no sign of a 4K SKU yet.
The studio has also set Fire Country: Season One for DVD only release on 9/19.
Kino Lorber Studio Classics has revealed that Michael Ritchie’s Prime Cut (1972) and James L. Conway’s The Boogens (1981) are both coming soon to 4K Ultra HD. And they’ve officially set Roger Spottiswoode’s The Best of Times (1986) and Dennis Dugan’s Brain Donors (1992) for Blu-ray release on 9/19.
Discotek Media is releasing Pascal Morelli’s 13-episode French animated series The Legend of Calamity Jane (1997-98) for release on Blu-ray on 9/26.
Lionsgate will release Tim Story’s The Blackening (2022) on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 8/22, and all three are now available for pre-order on Amazon.com (click here to see those).
Mill Creek Entertainment has set Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman’s Nefarious for Blu-ray and DVD release on 8/15.
And finally, Sony will re-issue their Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse BD Steelbook on 9/5.
