In announcement news today, Arrow Video has just revealed their September Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD slate, which includes David Twohy’s The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) on both Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD (in the US, UK, and Canada), Sergio Martino’s Torso (1973) on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD (in the US and Canada), and Marcus Nispel’s Friday the 13th (2009) in 4K Ultra HD (in the US only) all on 9/16-17, followed by Kinji Fukasaku’s The Threat (1966) on Blu-ray (in the US, UK, and Canada) and the Love, Death & Apocalypse: Three Films by Álex de la Iglesia box set—which includes Acción Mutante (1993), The Day of the Beast (1995), and Perdita Durango (1997)—on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD (in the UK only) on 9/23-24.
Here’s a nice surprise: HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment have just announced that Succession: The Complete Series is coming to Blu-ray on 8/13. You’ll get all 39 episodes of the series on 12 discs, along with 20 bonus features including Inside the Episodes, Character Recaps, Cast and Crew Interviews, and more. You can see the cover artwork above left and below.
Paramount has added a 4K Ultra HD SKU to their planned 9/10 Blu-ray and DVD release of the CG-animated Knuckles (2024), due on 9/10.
The Criterion Collection and Janus Films have set Lila Avilés’s Tótem (2023) for Blu-ray release on 9/10 as a Janus Contemporaries title.
Synapse Films will release Mike Mendez’ The Convent (2000) on 4K UHD on 10/8.
Our friends at the MVD Rewind Collection will bow the recent 1982: Greatest Geek Year Ever! documentary on Blu-ray on 10/22.
And it looks like Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment is already prepping the future 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release of Kevin Costner’s new Western saga, Horizon: An American Saga. Part 1 arrives in theaters this weekend, and it’s already listed for 4K UHD on Amazon here.
Also, Kino Lorber Studio Classics has set Jack Gold’s Aces High (1976) and Philip Kaufman’s The White Dawn (1974) for release on Blu-ray on 8/27, along with the Film Noir: The Dark Side of Cinema XX box set which includes Mitchell Leisen’s Captain Carey, USA (1950), Lewis Allen’s Appointment with Danger (1951), and William A. Seiter’s Make Haste to Live (1954). They’ve also revealed that John A. Alonzo’s Internal Affairs (1990) is “coming soon” to 4K Ultra HD.

Finally this afternoon, DC Studios, WBDHE, and Amazon have just dropped the first trailer for the animated Batman: Caped Crusader series from producers Bruce Timm (of Batman: The Animated Series fame), Matt Reeves, and J.J. Abrams. The series arrives on Prime Video on 8/1. So here’s a look at that...
