I spent some time on the water, some time in the air and time on a train. I marched over tundra and got close to a few (melting) glaciers. I saw grizzlies, moose, caribou, bald eagles and scores of humpback whales. I even zip-lined 190 feet over the floor of an Alaskan rainforest. All in all, it was a great time. It’s rare that Sarah and I take a true vacation, so after all the stuff we’ve been through over the last couple of years we figured we were due. But of course, we had very limited Internet access most places… and what little was available was, shall we say, premium priced. So I was forced to unplug from the world for a while and it was actually quite nice. Turns out Alaska is a pretty great place. I think I could get used to it.
Anyway, I just wanted to check in and say hello, and let you all know what’s been up. I’m back here in the office now, sorting through email and press releases – generally getting back up to speed. So I’ll be back tomorrow with the usual business.
Meanwhile today, Russell Hammond has posted the weekly update of the Release Dates & Artwork section with all the latest Blu-ray, DVD and video game cover art and Amazon.com pre-order links.
And for you Rings fans, the first teaser trailer for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug went live online while I was away – here’s the link. Looks pretty good.
I’ll leave you with a few quick cell phone camera pictures from the trip, and then I’ll see you back here tomorrow with news…
Stay tuned…
