Meanwhile, Sony has set Olympus Has Fallen for release on Blu-ray Combo and DVD on 8/13 (SRP $40.99 and $30.99). Extras will include 5 featurettes (Under Siege: The Making of Olympus Has Fallen, Creating The Impossible: Visual FX & Design, Antoine Fuqua: A Director’s Vision, Killer Visual Effects and Ground Combat: Fighting The Terrorists) and outtakes.
Sony has also set The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day – Director’s Cut for release on 2-disc Blu-ray and DVD on 7/16, exclusively at Best Buy stores. The film features some 27 minutes worth of extended footage restored by director Troy Duffy. You’ll also get the theatrical cut, cast and crew commentaries, deleted scenes and 7 featurettes (Unprecedented Access: Behind the Scenes, Billy Connolly and Troy Duffy: Unedited, Inside the Vault: The Weapons, The Cast Confesses: Secrets from the Set, The Boondock Saints Hit Comic-Con, Saints Off Script and Back to Boondock).
Shout! Factory has set the British action-thriller The Tower Block for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 7/2.
Speaking of Shout!, their Scream Factory label has just announced that they’re working to release The Beast Within (1982) and Crawlspace (1986) on Blu-ray before the end of the year! They’ve already set Schizoid (1980) for Blu-ray and DVD release on 8/20. And if you look below, we’ve got their newly-revealed cover artwork for The Vincent Price Collection and The Amityville Horror Trilogy on Blu-ray (street dates TBA for late Summer)!
Also, GKIDS is releasing the Hayao and Goro Miyazaki’s new Studio Ghibli animated film From Up on Poppy Hill on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/3.
Lionsgate has announced a few of their August titles, currently set to include Care Bears: A Belly Badge for Wonderheart – The Movie, Duck Dynasty: Season 3 and Gallowwalkers on 8/6, Emperor on 8/13 and Free Angela and All Political Prisoners on 8/20. All are DVD only.
Don’t forget – Fox is releasing Peter Bogdanovich’s At Long Last Love on Blu-ray tomorrow (6/4). It’s a director’s cut that includes an isolated score track and the film’s trailer.
Fox has also set Stoker for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 6/18.
And finally, Ketchup Entertainment will release The Dragon Pearl on Blu-ray and DVD exclusively at Walmart stores on 6/18.
