Indicator’s July slate includes Jet Pilot (1957), plus new Kino Lorber Studio Classics catalog Blu-rays, Gareth Edwards’ The Creator trailer & more

We have a few more new disc reviews for you all to enjoy here at The Bits today...

Stephen has reviewed the animated All-Star Superman in 4K Ultra HD from Warner and DC, as well as Elizabeth Banks’ Cocaine Bear on Blu-ray from Universal. The less said about that last one the better, but tip of the hat to Stephen for taking one for the team on this title.

Also, Stuart has turned in his thoughts on George Sherman’s Tomahawk (1951) and the anthology title If I Had a Million (1932), both on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

There’s not a lot of major release news today, but we do have a couple items to report...

Undercrank Productions is releasing Raymond Griffith: The Silk Hat Comedian on Blu-ray + DVD on 6/13. The set presents two of the star’s surviving silent comedies, Paths to Paradise (1925) and You’d Be Surprised (1926), in new 2K restoration scanned from 35 mm elements in the possession of the Library of Congress. Mill Creek Entertainment has revealed their June Blu-ray release slate, which is set to include The Event: The Complete Series on Blu-ray on 6/6, Southern Gospel on DVD only on 6/13, and Battle Kaiju Series 01 – Ultraman vs. Red King on Blu-ray on 6/27.

Powerhouse Films in the UK has revealed that their Indicator Blu-ray slate for July will include Rouben Mamoulian’s The Song of Songs (1933), Josef von Sternberg’s Jet Pilot (1957) and Thunderbolt (1929), and John Farrow’s Night Has a Thousand Eyes (1948). The UK street date is 24 July.

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has set John Frankenheimer’s 52 Pick-Up (1986), Jack Smight’s Number One with a Bullet (1987), and John Cassavetes’ Gloria (1980) all for Blu-ray release on 7/18. The company has also reveled that Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dynamite (1971 – aka Duck, You Sucker!) is coming soon to 4K Ultra HD.

Music Box Films has change the street date for The Complete Story of Film on Blu-ray to 6/20.

Well Go USA has set the animated I Am T-Rex for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on 6/20 as well.

And Umbrella Entertainment has set Razorback (1984) for 4K Ultra HD release in July, in Collector’s Edition and Dangerous or Dead Big Collector’s Edition SKUs. Street date is TBA.

Also, the latest trailer for Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One just dropped today from Paramount and it looks pretty good. You’ll find that here...

And we have one more trailer for you today as well: The first teaser for Gareth Edwards’ The Creator from 20th Century Studios—his first film since Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Here you go...
