Now then, our friends at Curzon Film in the UK have begun shipping our their 4K UHD replacement discs correcting the subtitle error in their recent release of Wim Wender’s Wings of Desire (reviewed here). If you’ve purchased this disc, you can request a corrected copy by filling out this form on their website.
Scream Factory has announced one more 4K Ultra HD title for release in July: Look for Mark Forster’s World War Z (2013) to arrive on the format on 7/18.
In other news today, Warner Bros. has finally dropped the first trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, and I strongly recommend that you watch the IMAX version of the trailer in full 4K. You can do so here (just be sure to switch resolutions and make it full screen for best effect)...
And finally today, earlier this week I had the great pleasure of joining my old friends Mark A. Altman, Daren Dochterman, and Ashley E. Miller on their fantastic Inglorious Treksperts podcast again to talk about the future of Star Trek on home entertainment—Blu-ray, 4K, and streaming. You can bet we talked about the fate of the much-desired Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager Remastered projects, not to mention Daren’s absolutely terrific idea for celebrating the forthcoming 60th anniversary of Star Trek: The Original Series and more. You can listen to the episode—Home Is Where the Trek Is—here on Spotify, here on Apple Podcasts, here on Tune In, or wherever you choose to listen your better audio entertainments. And if you didn’t catch my first visit with the Treksperts back in 2019, you can listen to that episode here as well. (You can actually watch that one here on Electric Now TV.) We had a great time talking Trek, as always—more fun than a Klingon intervention. Way more fun than a Vulcan one. Don’t miss it!
Back tomorrow with more. Stay tuned...
