Terrence Malick’s Song to Song, Vision Quest & Seven Days in May, plus Oppo’s UDP-205 4K UHD player ships soon

Now then... Broad Green Pictures has just set Terrence Malick’s Song to Song for Blu-ray and DVD release on 7/4, starring Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender, Natalie Portman, Rooney Mara, and Cate Blanchet.

The Warner Archive has just announced that Vision Quest (1985), The Loved One (1965), The Accidental Tourist (1988), and Seven Days in May (1964) are all coming to Blu-ray soon, each with a brand new HD transfer. [Read on here…]

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has announced that Curse of the Pink Panther (1983), Son of the Pink Panther (1993), and Inspector Clouseau (1968) are all now due to street on Blu-ray on 6/27.

BBC Home Entertainment will release Class: Series One as a 2-disc set on Blu-ray on 7/11. For those who may be unaware, the show is a spin-off of Doctor Who.

FilmRise has set Sion Sono’s Tag for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 6/20.

Lionsgate has set Power: Season Three for Blu-ray and DVD release on 6/13. They also have Grey Lady coming on DVD and Digital HD only on 6/27.

Also today, Criterion has announced a delay on their release of Orson Welles’s Othello. It had been set to street on 5/23. The new street date is TBA, but we should know more shortly.

Finally today, Oppo has just announced that their UDP-205 4K Ultra HD Audiophile Blu-ray player is going to start shipping at the end of next week. It carries an SRP of $1,299.00 and includes a number of hardware improvements on their already fine UDP-203 4K player designed to enhance the high-end audiophile experience. Meanwhile, if my daily columns are a bit sparse over the next couple of days, it’s because I’m working hard to finish a pair of new hardware reviews for you, including Oppo’s aforementioned UDP-203 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player, as well as Epson’s PowerLite Home Cinema 5040UB video projector. More on those soon.
