Okay, we’ve got a pretty good news update for you today here at The Bits.

First though, another new Blu-ray review...

Following up on yesterday’s review, Tim has posted his thoughts on Marty Feldman’s In God We Trust (1980), also newly available on disc from our friends over at Kino Lorber Studio Classics. And it sounds like the title has another great commentary by Alan Spencer, so it’s well worth you time to check the disc out.

Speaking of Kino Lorber Studio Classics, the company continues to prove its great worth to classic cinephiles with a new slate of nine Mae West films coming on Blu-ray on 6/29, including Night After Night (1932), I’m No Angel (1933), She Done Him Wrong (1933), Belle of the Nineties (1934), Goin’ to Town (1935), Go West Young Man (1936), Klondike Annie (1936), Every Day’s a Holiday (1937), and My Little Chickadee (1940). And following in July is a fine slate of classic westerns, war and foreign dramas, and films noir, including The Black Marble (1980) and The Widow Couderc (1971) on 7/7, Alias Nick Beal (1949), Larceny (1948), and The Web (1947) on 7/13, Unconquered (1947), The Plainsman (1936), The Gilded Lily (1935), The Bride Comes Home (1935), Thunderbolt (1929), and a double feature of 633 Squadron (1964) and Mosquito Squadron (1969) on 7/20, and finally Shenandoah (1967), Alias Jesse James (1959), Stranger on the Run (1967), L’Amour Braque (1985), and Baise-moi (2000) on 7/27.

In more recent classics, we’ve learned that Paramount’s planned Blu-ray re-issues of the Indiana Jones films (due on 6/8) will all be the same discs released previously, just repackaged. Some of you had asked about this, so now you know.

Here’s a bit of good news for Japanese anime fans: Discotek Media will be releasing Katsuhiro Otomo’s Memories on Blu-ray on 6/29.

And there’s a bunch of news today on the 4K Ultra HD front, starting with Lionsgate’s official announcement of Saw coming to the format on 5/11. The 4K disc will include both Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio, along with a Blu-ray copy and legacy extras. You can see the cover artwork below.

Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just announced the 4K Ultra HD release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete on 6/8. The 4K disc will include HDR10, plus all-new Dolby Atmos sound mixes for both the dubbed English and original Japanese audio tracks. You’ll also get a Blu-ray copy with legacy special features. You can see the cover art above left and also below.

Speaking of Sony, the company is finally releasing their non-Steelbook version of Andrew Niccol’s GATTACA on 4K Ultra HD here in the States on 6/15 (see below).

Amazon.co.uk has just listed Adam Wingard’s Godzilla vs. Kong for release on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on 6/14, which suggests that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s US street date is either 6/7 or 6/15. It’s not yet listed on Amazon, but we’ve got the UK temp cover art for the tile below.

Moving over to Disney, retail sources are suggesting that Raya and the Last Dragon will arrive on Blu-ray and 4K on 5/18. Again, the artwork is below.

Also this afternoon, Zavvi is offering 10% all their “comic book Steelbook” releases (some of which are 4K titles) when you use the code STEELBOOK10 at checkout. Click here to visit the relevant section on Zavvi US and here to visit Zavvi UK.

Finally today, Paramount has just released a promotional trailer for their forthcoming 4K Ultra HD release of George Cukor’s My Fair Lady (1964), due on 5/25. Here’s that...

Note that our 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits has been updated with all of the 4K news above.

And as promised, we’ll leave you today with a look at the cover artwork for a number of the titles mentioned above, with Amazon.com pre-order links if available...
