The news today is brief, but we’ve got a couple things to report today...

First though, Tim has reviewed a couple of Blu-ray titles for you, including Universal’s Munster, Go Home! (1966) from Scream Factory and Bone Tomahawk (2015), a kind of western horror film from RLJ Entertainment starring Kurt Russell.

But the big news today is that Universal is releasing Steven Spielberg’s Jaws as a 45th Anniversary Edition on 4K Ultra HD on 6/2.

Of course, we first mentioned this title was coming many weeks ago here at The Bits. You can now consider the release almost—but not quite—official. [Read on here...]

The reason is that Universal Studios Home Entertainment leaked the news early on Twitter this morning, but then deleted the Tweet. So it’s clear that the official announcement is coming imminently. In the meantime, here’s the official image they Tweeted, so you can see the cover artwork...

The package will include the film in 4K and Blu-ray, along a lenticular hologram slipcover, a 44-page booklet with artwork and liner notes, and a Digital code. We expect further details to arrive soon from the studio and we’ll post them when they do.

Note that it also appears there will be a 4K Steelbook edition, probably exclusive to Best Buy.

We also have a little sad news to report: The physical media retailer Second Spin is apparently going out of business due to the impact of the coronavirus. You can currently get their existing stock of titles for as much as 60% off on their website here.

As sad as this is, we suspect a number of other retailers are going to suffer a similar fate before this is all through.

Finally today, Sony’s Columbia Classics 4K Ultra HD Collection (due 6/16 with Lawrence of Arabia, Ghandi, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Dr. Strangelove, Jerry Maguire, and A League of Their Own) is now up for pre-order on Amazon.com. Click here or on the image below...

Anyway, back tomorrow with more news and whatnot. Everyone stay safe out there!
