We’ve got more new disc reviews for you today as well as more great title announcements, cover artwork, and pre-order links too...

Today’s reviews start with Tim’s take on Marquis de Sade’s Justine (1969) in 4K Ultra HD from director Jesús Franco and our friends at Blue Underground.

Also this evening, Stuart has offered his thoughts on François Truffaut’s Mississippi Mermaid (1969) on Blu-ray Disc from the Kino Lorber Studio Classics line, and also Mathieu Amalric’s Hold Me Tight (2021) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber.

As always, watch for more new disc reviews all this week.

Now then, the big catalog news today is that Paramount has finally announced a title we first revealed here at The Bits back in December: Mimi Leder’s Deep Impact (1998) is officially set for release in 4K Ultra HD on 5/2. The title will include Dolby Vision HDR and will carry over all of the previous Blu-ray special features. You can see the cover artwork at left and also below. [Read on here...]

Also officially coming to 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on 3/28 is Edward Berger’s Best Picture-nominated All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) from MPI Home Video. There’s also a UK release coming from Altitude Film Distribution on April 24. They appear to be essentially the exact same package, complete with a 4K UHD disc, a Blu-ray, and Mediabook packaging with liner notes. The 4K will include both Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. You can see that here (and also below)...

All Quiet on the Western Front (4K Ultra HD)

Shout! Factory and Scream have revealed a nice slate of titles for release in May, including Skyline (2010) in 4K Ultra HD on 5/2, The Tiger Cage Collection (1988-1991) and Highwaymen (2004) on Blu-ray on 5/9, a double feature Blu-ray of Conquest of Space (1955) and I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958) on 5/16, Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) on 4K Ultra HD on 5/23, and The Morning After (1986) on Blu-ray and The Haunting (1999) on 4K Ultra HD on 5/30.

Shout! is also about to release (tomorrow, 2/28) a pair of additional double feature Blu-rays, including one with The Great Texas Dynamite Chase (1976) and Eat My Dust! (1976), and another with Wheels of Fire (1985) and Raiders of the Sun (1992).

Fans of director William Friedkin will be pleased to learn that Kino Lorber Studio Classics’ long-awaited 4K Ultra HD release of To Live and Die in L.A. (1985) is now set to arrive on 5/30. Watch for that to get announced soon. The company has also just revealed that they’re working on a 4K UHD release of Billy Wilder’s Stalag 17 (1953) for release sometime later in 2023.

And finally today, a heads up: Second Sight’s 4K Ultra HD release of George A. Romero’s Martin (1977) is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com in both regular and limited editions, as is Vinegar Syndrome’s wide-release 4K UHD of Stuart Gordon’s From Beyond (1986).

We’ll leave you today with a look at the cover artwork for many of the titles mentioned above, with Amazon links if available (just click on the covers to visit their respective pre-order pages). Don’t forget that any time you order literally anything from Amazon after clicking to them from one of our links, you’re helping to support our work here at The Bits and we really do appreciate it...
