All right, we have three more new disc reviews for you today…

First up, my thoughts on Paramount’s Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane on 4K Ultra HD. Good films certainly, but interesting catalog choices for release on this format. Do give them a look.

Also available today, Tim takes a look at Severin’s new Blu-ray release of Umberto Lenzi’s Eaten Alive, for those in need of an Italian cannibal horror/gore fix. There you go. [Read on here...]

In announcement news today, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has just set The Greatest Showman for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 4/10, with the Digital and Movies Anywhere release expected on 3/20. We’re awaiting specific details on the extras, but expect over two hours of bonus content and “sing along” options.

Meanwhile, Lionsgate has just revealed two more interesting films for release on 4K Ultra HD, one new and one catalog, including Hostiles on 4/24 and Duncan Jones’ Source Code on 5/8. Hostiles was finished as a native 4K DI so it should look great. Source Code is a 2K-upsample, but the 4K release will include Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. Both discs will include the previous Blu-ray editions with all extras.

Also, here’s a heads-up: Warner’s 2001: A Space Odyssey 4K Ultra HD is now available for pre-order on Amazon (here and below)! Street date is TBA, likely for 3/27 or 4/3. Watch for an announcement soon.

We’ve updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List with these new titles accordingly.

Also coming from Lionsgate on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on 3/27 is Acts of Violence.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set Babak Najafi’s Proud Mary for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 4/3, with the Digital release due on 3/27.

And finally, Twilight Time as announced their May Blu-ray release slate, which is set to include Geronimo: An American Legend (1993), Next Stop, Greenwich Village (1976), Hilda Crane (1956), and The Birth of a Nation (1915 – The Kevin Brownlow/Photoplay 2015 Restoration) on 5/22. Don’t forget that their April BD slate will include Model Shop (1969), Auto Focus (2002), No Down Paymant (1957), and Blue Denim (1959) on 4/17.

We’ll leave you with a look at the 4K Ultra HD cover art for the three titles mentioned above (all of the titles below are now available for Amazon pre-order by clicking on the cover art)…

The Greatest Showman (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) Hostiles (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) Source Code (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray)

Justice League (4K Ultra HD) The Commuter (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) 2001: A Spacey Odyssey (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray)

Back with more again tomorrow. Stay tuned...
