All right, we’ve got two more new reviews for you all to enjoy today...

First up, I’ve turned in my thoughts on Ruben Fleischer’s long-awaited sequel Zombieland: Double Tap in 4K Ultra HD from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

And a quick heads-up: I’ll have a review of Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep in 4K Ultra HD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment done soon as well.

Also, Tim has just finished his in-depth look at Scream Factory’s outstanding new Universal Horror Collection: Volume 3 Blu-ray box set, which includes Rowland V. Lee’s Tower of London, George Waggner’s Man Made Monster and Horror Island, and Albert S. Rogell’s The Black Cat. [Read on here...]

And that review comes not a moment too soon, as Scream has officially announced the release of the Universal Horror Collection: Volume 4 on Blu-ray on 3/17. The box set will include new 2K scans of the classic Universal titles Night Key, Night Monster, The Climax, and House of Horrors. Extras will include new audio commentaries, trailers, and the new The Creeper: Rondo Hatton at Universal featurette.

Now for the big announcements today... Sony Pictures Home Entertainment just made Jumanji: The Next Level official for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 3/17, with the Digital release due on 3/3. The 4K will include HDR10 high dynamic range, DTS:X object-based audio, and will be “IMAX Enhanced.” Extras on the disc will include a Gag Reel, an Augmented Reality game, and 12 featurettes (including Rhys Darby Wants to Jingle, Body Swapping: Snapping into Character, Back Together: Reuniting the Cast, Level Up: Making Jumanji: The Next Level, Scene Breakdown: Ostrich Chase, Scene Breakdown: Mandrill Bridges, Awkwafina Cat Burglar, NPC Confessions: Jurgen the Brutal, Grow Up, Telenovela, VFX Pre-Vis: Zeppelin Battle, and VFX Pre-Vis: Ostrich Chase). You can see the cover artwork below.

Sony has also just officially announced the Blu-ray and DVD release of Greta Gerwig’s Oscar-nominated Little Women on 4/7, with the Digital release due on 3/10. Sadly, there seem to be no plans to release it on physical 4K Ultra HD. Audio will be 5.1 DTS-HD MA on Blu-ray. Extras will include 6 featurettes (A New Generation of Little Women, Making a Modern Classic, Greta Gerwig: Women Making Art, Hair & Make-Up Test Sequence, Little Women Behind the Scenes, and Orchard House, Home of Louisa May Alcott). You can see the cover artwork below.

And Lionsgate has just announced the Blu-ray and DVD release of Uncut Gems, starring Adam Sandler, on 3/10, with the Digital release due on 2/25. Extras will include the Money on the Street: The Making of Uncut Gems featurette.

Finally today, we need to take a moment to acknowledge the passing of actor Robert Conrad on Saturday. Conrad is probably best known for playing James T. West on TV’s The Wild Wild West back in the 1960s. He appeared on the 1970s TV production of James A. Michener’s Centennial, was also a staple of the Battle of the Network Stars competitions in the 70s, and you damn well didn’t want to try to knock an Eveready battery off his shoulder. But my favorite of his works by far was another television staple of the 1970s, Baa Baa Black Sheep (aka The Black Sheep Squadron), in which he played real-life WWII fighter ace Pappy Boyington. And I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Conrad than by marathoning the series on Blu-ray. (It’s available from Amazon France and I’ve reviewed the set here at The Bits.) Conrad was 84. You can read more about him here at The New York Times.

Robert Conrad (1935-2020)

So long, Robert. “Baa baa baaaaaaaa... ”

Here’s a look at the cover artwork for a couple of the titles mentioned above, with Amazon pre-order links if available...
