Also here at The Bits today, Michael Coate takes a look back at Gone with the Wind, in celebration of the film’s 75th anniversary, with a new interview of film historians and a look back at the original U.S. roadshow screenings. Do give it a look.

Finally today, I wanted to give you all the heads-up that tonight is the world premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens up in Hollywood. Though official reviews are not supposed to start hitting the web until Wednesday, it’s a virtual certainty that some over-eager geek blogger is going to be too pumped full of high-octane exclusively-exclusive spoilers to keep from spilling his or her tongue on social media. So if you want to stay unspoiled, I would be very cautious about where you go and what you read online for the rest of the week. Just so you know, I’m seeing the film on Thursday night. I’ll post my brief and very general thoughts here at The Bits on Friday morning, but I will absolutely 100% avoid spoilers of any kind. We’ve all waited too damn long for a good Star Wars sequel to have it spoiled for us. So The Digital Bits will be a SPOILER-FREE ZONE. That’s my promise to you.
All right, have a great night and see you back here tomorrow.
